“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captivity and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendour.” Isaiah 61: 1- 3
Here’s what one reader had to say about Sheryl’s ministry:
Sheryl, I thank you for your kind advice and I have been doing what you suggest from the start and have been journaling also—has helped me so much. I can’t even begin to tell you how much your blog has comforted me opened my eyes to new ways of thinking about grief. Thank you for your prayers and guiding me towards healing through my relationship with Jesus. —Patti
For my precious brothers and sisters in Christ to be “wounded healers” as they experience, express, and export the love, grace and compassion of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.
“They will rebuild ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. V 7 “Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs.” Isaiah 61:4 & 7
“Declare His glory among the nations, his marvellous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:3
“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not whither. Whatever he does prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3
